What's On My Nightstand - January 2011

What's On Your Nightstand? is here again. If you are unfamiliar, What's On Your Nightstand? is a monthly adventure that allows readers of all kinds to discuss the books they have read over the past month and books they hope to read in the next month. It's very flexible, and I like it!

Over the past month I have been reading a lot! Unfortunately last week I had a bout with the flu, and it has pushed back my reading a lot. And I'm currently in an English class that gives me plenty of assigned reading, so finding time for the fun stuff is a bit hard. But, I have read a few things.

For the L.M. Montgomery Reading Challenge I read the ever-popular Anne of Green Gables. I loved it, and I'm hoping to dig into Emily of New Moon, the first book in Montgomery's Emily series, soon.

I've also been reading, though have yet to finish, Radical by David Platt. I was just curious since it is a New York Times Bestseller and all, and it has proved to be interesting! I'll soon give you my thoughts on the matter. I have quite a lot to say about it.

I've also been listening to Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (read by Christopher Hurt). I am really enjoying the book, and this is my first time to actually listen to an audio book (besides Focus On the Family's Radio Theatre, which is more like a production). I like it a lot.

I'm not setting any goals for next month except to read as much and as often as I can.

  1. I've always meant to read Fahrenheit 451-- one of those books that I feel it's a shame that I haven't read!

Hope you're feeling better and get back on the reading wagon. :)

  2. I read Radical early last year and thought it had some really good things to say. I haven't read Anne of Green Gables since I was a kid, but I've watched the movies plenty of times!
