Spring is here in full force, and so is this month's What's On Your Nightstand? post! Unfortunately, I'm a day late in posting this, but better late than never I say. I've read a good selection of books over the past month, like

| Had to add this picture of my lily plant that finally bloomed yesterday! |
The Girl in the Gatehouse, Julie Klassen's newest historical fiction. It was definitely intriguing, and I'm looking forward to Klassen's next tale.
The Band That Played On by Steve Turner, a story of the eight musicians who went down with the Titanic. Great biography, and I loved learning more about what really happened with the Titanic.

I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris. This was my second read-through of the book, and I liked it even better this time around.
I also finally finished up Sacred Singleness by Leslie Ludy, a book I would recommend to any single young woman who's wholeheartedly devoted to God. It was so encouraging to me.
The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag by Alan Bradley. Finally! I read the second book in Alan Bradley's enticing Flavia de Luce mystery series. I'm hoping to write up a review of it within the next couple of days. It was just as good as The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, if not better, since readers have already been introduced to Flavia and Mr. Bradley was able to shape her character a bit more.
Right now I'm getting back into Les Miserables and an intriguing book that will be making its appearance in May called Praying for Your Future Husband: Preparing Your Heart for His by Tricia Goyer and Robin Jones Gunn. I was pretty skeptical about it, but it is really great!Reading is proving to be a good companion to me in these spring days. Happy reading to you!

Oh, there's something about spring reading-- sitting outside with a cool breeze and the warm (but not TOO hot) sun shining down. Ahhhh. :)

I recently finished The Girl in the Gatehouse. It was a good read, though I think her first book has been my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed Praying for you Future Husband in the CBD catalog. I need to jot down that title for the future.
The first two books on your list are on my to-read list! Sounds like you had some great reads this month. :) I hope May goes as well for you!
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying Les Miserables! One of my favorites, and I just love encouraging other people to read it.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this review of "The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag" --as I was interested in the first book, and now doubly interested in the series yet again.
Sounds like you had some great reads this month! I have been reading so much fiction lately and am ready to dive into my nonfiction pile coming up.
