It is sad to note that MyWriMo is almost over, though I remind myself that MyWriMo can be any month of the year. I really haven't written as much as I wanted to, but school and life took over. I have, however, thought a lot about my story/novella/I-don't-really-know-yet. I have finally figured out a key piece of the main plot. You know, I used to think that writers had the whole story mapped in their heads before they started writing, like an outline. Maybe some do, but it really doesn't have to be that way. I have written beginning chapters, ending chapters, and random in-betweens, but I have continually changed the plot line and added new details. I suppose it just takes practice. I do finally feel like this story is going to be a good one, like I can actually finish this one out. I need to do bit more researching and problem-solving, but I'm excited to see the characters "come alive."
Happy writing and reading!

I didn’t know why, but now I was angry. . . . It didn’t matter though. I had made up my mind. “Trust no one,” I whispered. I glanced up at the sky once again. The sun still slumbered.

This is great to know!
ReplyDeleteNow that you've latched on to a good idea for the plot, I know you can run with it! (or... type with it?)
It's different for me with each story I write... sometimes I outline, sometimes I don't. On the first 2 stories I worked on earlier this month, they required no outlining... I just thought about what should happen next and wrote it. But the project I'm doing now requires a lot of sequential events... one thing leads the characters to the next thing. So I was forced to outline this one, or otherwise I would forget key points!
